SUMMARY
Work, design, code, maintain and support high quality .NET-based insurance applications in a small team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Works closely with other developers, project managers, and business analysts to define, design, code, build, test, implement and support high-quality .NET-based insurance applications
• Makes architectural design recommendations
• Performs unit and system testing on each assignment
• Provides accurate time estimates for all development assignments
• Collaborates well with IT and business resources to identify the best and most cost-effective solutions for the business
• Willing and able to work on both projects and production support efforts
• Willing to be on-call on an as-needed basis
• Ability and desire to mentor and share technical knowledge with other developers

Senior Business Analyst

Hansell Tierney is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst for a contrat-to-hire or permanent position in Seattle

SUMMARY
Provide application, functionality, process and technical consulting to business groups in order to solve the right business problems through the most cost-effective solution.  Analyze business needs to help scope, plan, design, develop, test, and rollout projects.  Proactively learns insurance products, processes and related applications in order to aid the business in taking full advantage of technology and applications functionality.  Identifies opportunities for and facilitates continual business process improvement.  Effectively works alongside Project Managers, business subject-matter-experts, and IT subject-matter-experts in the creation of project deliverables. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Partners with business resources to increase revenue and profitability by solving the highest-value business problems through technology, applications functionality and process improvement
  • Works with business partners to elicit and document business requirements for new software applications, new business processes, enhancements to existing applications, and integration among applications, databases, and third-parties. 
  • Facilitates prioritization of application maintenance efforts with the right business resources so that developers are working on the highest value changes possible
  • Identifies and leads resolution of complex business problems through technology, applications and/or business process improvement; proactively escalates problems and/or brings in the right additional resources when necessary. 
  • Solves business problems with existing solutions before creating new enhancement or project requests; appropriately leverages application, automated and process solutions
  • Leads small projects when necessary (delivers the right solution on time and within budget), following company’s project management methodology
  • Researches new technologies/business solutions; makes recommendations based on business requirements
  • Works with Project Manager to scope and plan the overall work effort for a project
  • Develops cost / benefit analysis
  • Documents current and future work flows, processes, and procedures
  • Works with Project Manger to develop plans and materials for testing, training, and roll-out
  • Facilitates prioritization of work efforts and solution options.
  • Supports the tracking and reporting of project status
